Sled dog guide / Husky safari guide
Looking for adventure, teamwork, and furry colleagues? Become part of our husky team in Lapland this winter!
Come and join our dynamic, international and professional team for the season 2025-2026, or perhaps even longer!
HuskyCo became part of the Wilderness Hotels & Safaris family in November 2024, which has brought many positive changes to our dog yard. The biggest of these is a full kennel renovation, making it more functional and providing our dogs with the best possible life – while ensuring unforgettable memories for our guests.
To make this all possible, we are looking for motivated people who are eager to learn, grow, and work with us.
Our kennel has just under 200 dogs: some working, some retired, and some still growing into sled dogs. All our dogs live in pens, and our retirees and youngsters have a dedicated area where they can interact and develop their social skills.
In our team, everyone does everything – we don’t separate guides and mushers.
Our main programme is a 10 km tour, guided either by snowmobile or sled depending on the day’s workload. Typically, we have four starts per day: two in the morning and two in the afternoon. The workday starts at 7 am and usually finishes before 5 pm.
Your tasks will include:
- Daily kennel work
- Taking care of our four-legged colleagues and ensuring their wellbeing
- Guiding husky tours
- Interacting with guests from all around the world
- Occasionally transporting guests to/from the farm
- Training and socialising youngsters and retirees
- Helping with light maintenance in the kennel when needed
- Working outdoors in all conditions – from sunshine to blizzards – with a smile
We are looking for:
- An experienced or motivated person (minimum age 22)
- Someone friendly towards both dogs and people
- Physically strong and capable of outdoor work
- A responsible team player who can also work independently
- A fluent English speaker (other languages are an advantage)
- A person with a valid driving licence (manual gearbox)
- Most importantly: someone with excellent customer service skills, able to smile and stay calm even during the busiest days of the season
P.S. Couples are welcome to apply, but you should have previous experience working together.
What we offer:
- Starting salary from 13.50 €/h, depending on experience
- 120 hours / 3 weeks work schedule
- Full training and ongoing support
- Shared accommodation
- An unforgettable working environment in the heart of Lapland’s nature
- Wilderness Hotel's staff benefits
Work begins in early to mid-October 2025.
Interviews will start soon, and positions will be filled as soon as we find the right candidates.
