The heart of the hotel
The reception is where everything comes together: guests, activity programs, restaurant info, housekeeping updates, weather forecasts – and sometimes even the northern lights. At our front desk, you’ll know a little bit about everything – from how to start the sauna to how to safely de-ice the glass roofs of Aurora accommodations, whether the skies will be clear at night, and what time the evening excursions depart.
Of course, reception work includes check-ins, check-outs, guest service, and reservation handling – but also much more. It’s about solving small problems, helping guests find their way, and staying in close contact with every department in the hotel.
Reception is the nerve center of the hotel – or perhaps the crossroads, where information flows and every moment is different. It’s fast-paced, social, and requires calm under pressure. But it’s also rewarding: in reception, you play a key role in shaping the guest experience.
In most of our destinations, the reception is open from 7 AM to 11 PM, but some locations operate 24/7 – in those, we also have dedicated night shift staff. We use Mews as our hospitality management system, and new users learn it quickly with the help of our onboarding.
If you enjoy staying on top of things, meeting people, and having a job where no two days are alike, reception might just be your place.
