We are looking for a Head Chef to join the team at Wilderness Hotel Muotka in a full-time, permanent role.

Wilderness Hotel Muotka is beautifully located near Saariselkä and the vast Urho Kekkonen National Park. It offers exceptional access to nature: hiking trails, ski tracks, and snowmobile routes start just steps from the hotel. Guests from around the world come here to experience the magic of Lapland – and we take pride in providing them with warm hospitality and high-quality service.

Winter is the busiest season of the year. International guests arrive for northern lights, husky adventures, and snowy landscapes. The kitchen runs at full speed, serving buffet-style meals to large groups. Strong planning, teamwork, and a steady hand in the kitchen are essential during this fast-paced season.

In the summer, the pace slows down. Guests come to enjoy the midnight sun, peaceful hikes, and the calm of the wilderness. The restaurant serves à la carte dishes with a focus on detail and seasonal ingredients. Muotka is open throughout the year – in summer, autumn, and winter – and our guests include both couples and families from around the globe.

Main responsibilities:

• Planning, organizing, and overseeing daily kitchen operations
• Preparing food alongside your team
• Designing and developing menus seasonally with the kitchen team
• Scheduling kitchen staff shifts
• Placing orders and managing supplies
• Minimizing food waste and maximizing efficient use of ingredients
• Close collaboration with restaurant and hotel teams

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role
• Speaks good English and Finnish
• Works independently and takes initiative
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Is comfortable using Office365 tools
