The best memories of winter are not made by the Northern Lights alone. Some of them are served on a plate.

At Wilderness Hotels, food is an essential part of our guests’ holiday experience. Visitors travel from all over the world to experience the magic of Finnish Lapland, and our kitchens play a key role in creating memorable moments that stay with them long after they return home. The work is varied, and the fast-paced nature of seasonal hospitality provides the right amount of challenge. At the same time, strong teamwork and a positive atmosphere make the job rewarding and enjoyable.

What the job includes

• Preparing buffet and à la carte dishes

• Carrying out food preparation and daily kitchen duties

• Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring compliance with food safety standards

• Working closely with the restaurant service team and fellow kitchen staff

• Creating high-quality guest experiences through excellent food

What we expect from you

• Previous experience working as a chef

• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent)

• A proactive and positive attitude towards work

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Commitment to delivering high-quality food, even during the busiest days of the season

What you will gain from this season

Working in Lapland is about much more than just a job.

Our destinations are located in the municipality of Inari, well above the Arctic Circle. Winter here is long and snowy, and your free time offers space to truly unwind. After work, cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing routes, and winter cycling paths are all close by, while the Northern Lights often provide a reminder of why you chose to come this far north.

Staff accommodation is available if needed.

The accommodation is clean and fully furnished – in practice, all you need to bring is a toothbrush and warm clothing. During the winter season, accommodation is shared, with two employees sharing the same room.

Salary and employment terms

• Starting salary: €2,400/month + supplements

• Final salary will be determined based on education and previous work experience

Employment period:

• November 2026 – April 2027

Working Time Bank

All employees have access to a working time bank. Working hours vary throughout the season, and any additional hours worked during busier periods can be taken as time off later. Any unused accrued hours will be paid out at the end of the employment period.
